Making the decision yourself to live in a residential care home or making that decision for a loved one can be a very big step, which we understand is a very important decision.

How will I spend my day?
Here at Charlotte James, we can keep you as busy as you want or as relaxed as you want with our tailor-made activities to suit everyone.
Our wellbeing Co Ordinator runs daily group games like bingo, dominos, playing cards, balloon tennis and bean bag throwing and seasonal craft activities throughout the day.
A weekly hairdresser visits you every Tuesday and is based in our hairdressing room on the ground floor, this is where you are able to get a cut/ blow dry/ perm for both men and women and if you are unable to visit the hairdressing room - all treatments are able to be provided in your own room.
Here at Charlotte James we enjoy celebrating all birthdays and special occasions. Homemade cakes and balloons are always provided for each resident and we welcome all family and friends to join in the celebrations.
The staff here make sure to mark every holiday and special events on the calendar, we do this by having special food menus / singers / services.
Our wellbeing co Ordinator makes sure our home is nicely decorated all year round to mark each season and in the warmer months our garden and courtyards come alive with a array of flowers and plants in all different shapes, sizes and colours.
If music is something you enjoy, we have a variety of entertainers and singers throughout the year singing songs from old and new, which staff and residents enjoy. During the festive season we have the local primary school choir come and sing for us which is vey heart-warming for everyone here at Charlotte James.
You have a choice of Films old and new which are avaliable to watch daily at your request as well as a wide range of music.
During our winter months, we have an indoor garden for you to enjoy with plants, grass a lovely bench and sounds from the garden, it is a lovely peaceful area for you to enjoy by yourself or with family and friends.
New to 2022 we have our onsite library where you can borrow one of our many books which have kindly been donated by the community. Our new Library is based in our summer house and is avaliable to use by all our residents and staff.
What will I eat?
One of the most important questions - here at Charlotte James all of our nutritious food is cooked on site. You will have a choice of what to eat and where to eat it, the dining room with friends, the garden (when the sun is shining) or your room if you would prefer to.
We have cakes baked daily which are available throughout the day. Snacks are also avaliable. We cater for all dietary requirements. We pride ourselves in having a 5-star hygiene rating from our latest inspection in July 2022 by the food standards agency.
Who will be looking after me?
Our team are the best of the best. We pride ourselves on giving our team quality training giving them the tools and knowledge they need to provide the best care, we have qualified staff on 24 hours a day 7 days a week, including a registered nurse, Healthcare assistants, Wellbeing Co-ordinator, Cooks, Domestic staff.
Do you have a garden?
Yes, we do have a lovely big garden with seating and tables to enjoy the warmer months. Also we have raised Planter beds where you can help grow plants and vegetables We have plenty of space for lovely walks and to enjoy our colourful flowers and shrubs.
Here at Charlotte James, we pride ourselves in providing a home from home environment and care for our residents like they are our own family. We offer a range of inhouse services to ensure all their needs are being met.

We also have a new garden room situated in our conservatory which is a lovely quiet area to enjoy the sounds of the outdoors when the weather is too cold.
We have a fantastic kitchen team which provides varied home cooked nutritious meals, catered to specific dietary requirements if needed. Our kitchen team are always willing to provide any meal or pudding requests to our residents if there is something they really enjoy eating.
